I really like WordPress, I do, it’s a fabulous tool, but to be able to customize it as you want and add all the cool widgets you crave for it’s got to be the installed version: WordPress.org, not com. And com is what I have and I simply don’t have the time right now to fully discover the org version. So I’m taking the easy way to paradise, stepping over to Blogger. At least for a while. Bibl goes Blogger, BETAbibl, check it out!

NordBib 2.0 – Get Inspired by Web 2.0 for Libraries
October 1, 2008

Check out the NordLib 2.0 conference, a Web 2.0 and Learning 2.0 Conference day organized 21 November by the Stockholm University Library. Their conference blog is a neat example of an efficient and cheap way of opening up a dialogue with conference attendees before the actual event.

I’m excited about this conference initiative which I’m sure will give some creative contributions to our joint efforts to bridge the gap between the academic and the public libraries. Public libraries have for many years been informal meeting points for sharing, IRL. Now we are moving the perspective towards the new social web and are busy implementing “old” concepts (for example the Study Circle, as a collaborative learning concept!) and new methodologies (the CafĂ© table as a methaphor for sharing!) on these new digital and informal meeting points: the social communities on the web.

I think we have a lot of interesting experiences within this field to share between our different library types. In the future we’ll probably be merging into one single library type: the “Lifelong Learning Library” which spans over both the formal and informal learning perspective. What do you think?

See you there in November! Looking forward to hearing Malin, Erik, Guus and other interesting guys who are really in the sharing “business” 🙂

Wanna Doodle with me?
September 28, 2008

Visst, analogt Ă€r charmigt ibland, och t.o.m estetiskt, men förstĂ„s fullstĂ€ndigt vĂ€rdelöst i kollaborativa sammanhang.

Hey, wanna Doodle with me? 🙂

Ibland (ofta?) uttrycker andra ens egna Ă„sikter mycket bĂ€ttre Ă€n en sjĂ€lv….

Reclaim your library. KrĂ€v din rĂ€tt – biblioteket Ă€r ditt. Dra in rollspel och Tv-spelskonsoller.
